Econometrics education emerges from the combination of economic theory, mathematics, and statistics, yet it is defined as a distinct discipline separate from each of these three fields. Unlike economics departments, econometrics departments aim to train individuals who are knowledgeable not only in economics but also in mathematics and statistics.
